PXcellence Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PXcellence (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use the PXcellence mobile app (com.pxecellence.client) and related services.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed), optional profile image, and professional major.
• User content: cards/posts, comments, likes, and favorites you create in the app.
• Device and notifications: device identifier and Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can send push notifications you request.
• Usage: basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the service (for example login time).

2. How we use data

• Create and manage your account, including email verification and password reset.
• Provide app features: browsing cards, comments, likes, favorites, and profile settings.
• Send transactional emails (verification codes, password reset, account deletion confirmation).
• Send push notifications related to the service.
• Protect the service against abuse and comply with law.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us operate PXcellence, such as:

• Hosting and database providers
• Email delivery
• Firebase / Google for push notifications

These providers process data on our instructions. We may also disclose data if required by law.

4. Retention

We keep account and content data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we mark the account as deleted and stop using it for the service. Residual backups may remain for a limited period for security and legal purposes.

5. Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data.

• In the app: open Profile / Settings and choose Delete Account.
• On the web: use Delete account. We complete deletion requests without undue delay, and within 30 days.

6. Children

PXcellence is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including hashed passwords and authenticated APIs. No method of transmission is 100% secure.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
